The story of their wedding day

I have always wanted to film a winter wedding as the snow softly falls...Though not quite in winter, Shailey and Graham’s wedding granted me the opportunity to film my first wedding in the snow. But it was not just any snow storm, but a Nor’Easter!

I drove up to the Omni Mount Washington Resort with ample time before I needed to be there because I knew of the impending storm. The snow began falling a little after 10 am with a light snow fall. Visuals of the mountains and the trees were spectacular, but because the storm moved in so quickly, the clouds obscured any Mount Washington views by the time I made it up to the resort.

In traditional Indian fashion Graham rode in on a horse with family and friends dancing alongside him as Shailey watched from afar. I, nervous about the heavy snow, wrapped the camera gear in ponchos, taped on with Gaffer’s tape. I soon realized the Nor’Easter winds caught the ponchos like a sail, ready to topple the tripods. After fixing my mistake, I captured the whole Baraat (the processional as the groom approaches), one hand on each camera.

The two exchanged their vows during a traditional Indian ceremony. After, they ventured down to a tunnel in the basement that led to a speakeasy like bar for photos and video! The two then changed into a tuxedo and a white dress for the reception entrance and they danced the night away but not before heading out into the storm for some personal moments as the snow fell on the mountains.
