I can't believe 12 years ago, in 2006, I took my first film photography class in college. I immediately fell in love with the ability photographs had to capture the heart and soul of a moment. It has been my obsession ever since. I think this came from my grandmother who was the one who captured photos and made albums for the family.

Photography is something so valuable to me and I truly believe in its ability to capture the heart and soul of a moment. Being the one who can do this for couples is such an honor because they will pass down those memories to their children and families. To be a part of something like that truly fills you.

Something that is important to me as a professional is to continue to reinvest into my skills and become better as a photographer. I want my clients to feel like they will have their weddings or engagements captured the way that they want. One of the things I have done to improve is to be a part of styled shoots. I can take risks there and try new lenses, techniques and really push myself before I go and do a wedding.

I mean, who doesn't love a bouquet with ferns in them?! I just love bouquet shots. It is so sad that this gorgeous piece of work doesn't last forever like your photos or dress. I think it is important to capture it beautifully.

I specifically decided to do a styled shoot to showcase what Oregon has to offer, including the most talented local vendors. The theme was forest fairytale and I think it was just so dreamy, almost like a real-life scene from Snow White.

This has to be one of my favorite shoots because of how moody and rich it was. The woodwork, candles, and gold details gave this session such an ethereal feel.

The details of the silverware, cups, bouquet and even the greenery on the table pulled this all together. Something that was unique about the altar was that it could be broken down and put back up in a matter of minutes! I was impressed.

I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of this and give some inspiration to couples wanting to recreate this kind of wedding. Some days I can't believe I am so lucky to live in this captivating state and capture beautiful moments.
