Husband and Wife Wedding Photographers Working as Two Shooters

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Joel and Cheryl from Black & Gold Photography have been shooting side by side at weddings for the past 8 years.

"When we started dating we were managing a local portrait studio together so we've kind of always worked side by side."

After the portrait studio gig they got full-time office jobs and started shooting weddings for friends on the side.  After many years of balancing part-time wedding photography and full-time jobs they took the plunge of going full-time wedding photographers in early 2018 and couldn't imagine anything better.

"Our couples love that we're two main photographers and that we're husband and wife.  They can relate to us and we can be in two places at once if we need to on a wedding day.  We also feed off each others strengths; If one of us has an idea the other can elaborate on that and together we create magic for our clients."

Although photography teams might not be anything new, these two bring a different perspective to the meaning of two shooters.

"We never use the same lens as each other or go for the same angle.  We are essentially giving you two different shots for every moment."

If Joel is working on this

If one of us shoots close-up

then the other goes wide

Our ultimate goal is to get our couples the best shots that we can and we have the best time doing it!
