When you have a crazy obsession for all things animal and a passion for photography, being a pet photographer is the only thing in the world you want to do. Photographers Feather and Jeannie joined forces in early 2017 to form Feather Photography and it has been a wild ride!

We specialize in pet portraits but of course the word “pet” can be subjective. We have had the usual cats and dogs in the studio but the best part of this adventure is when we get to photograph the more unusual pets like ducks, sheep, and goats.

There can be just as strong of a bond between a woman and her duck as there is between a man and his dog. Goats that have been raised with love are in-your-face affectionate and it’s one of the greatest feelings in the world to be surrounded by them.

Feather and Jeannie share our time with a few non profit rescues like Kitten Rescue of Mason County and Puget Sound Goat Rescue. Being able to help unwanted and abandoned animals find a home is another great aspect of what we do. A fantastic shelter photo can make a huge difference in the future of a shelter animal.

Of course we do not discriminate in our photography and people are just as welcome in front of our lens as their pets. Capturing that bond between people and their pets is such an amazing part of what we do. Pet parents are so often behind the camera taking the photos that they miss out on getting those tangible memories with their fur-babies.

We often will hear from pet parents “I would love a session with my pet but they are not trained” or “they are too wild!”. Luckily Feather and Jeannie have had lots of experience with naughty dogs, and shy kitties and we have lots of tricks up our sleeves to get the attention of some of the more “difficult” clients. Patience is definitely the name of the game. And a tasty treat doesn’t hurt either! We have captured some amazing animals and some beautiful moments and we are so looking forward to the rest of our animal adventure!
