Farm-to-Table Vermont Wedding | Farmhouse Group Events

There's nothing quite like a Vermont wedding. The Green Mountains have a certain allure: fresh, clean air, farms, lakes, rivers, trees in abundance - the scenery everywhere you look is woodsy and amazing.  There's no shortage of local, farm fresh meats & vegetables, produce from small, craft purveyors. Everything seems to be handled with care and passion.

One of the most special events that Farmhouse Group Events has been a part of in recent years is Jane and Dan’s wedding in Eastern Vermont along the Connecticut River, and there’s a few reasons for this.

Being a full service catering company focused on local, farm-to-table food, local, craft beer and the like - Farmhouse Group Events appreciates fresh vegetables, produce, the makers, farmers and purveyors we have in abundance here in Vermont. The bride herself is a farmer and carries that “localvore” passion with her, and thus was drawn to our services for her wedding. Jane and our executive chef, Phillip Clayton, collaborated on Jane and Dan’s wedding menu using all of the veggies, herbs, edible flowers and more - all from Jane’s farm. We had greens, herbs and flowers in beautiful family-style bowls, local Vermont chicken with Chef Clayton’s signature dry rub, Apis Kombucha cocktails ,  Good Measure Brewing Company beer, and many more items for a truly Vermont dining experience.

Secondly, this wedding was so fun not only because of Jane & Dan and their happy, kind personalities, but we were able to work alongside some of our favorite Vermont vendors including Jerica Dziki from Et Cetera Event Company, Kelly Dudash of 822 Weddings, Rita Champion from Stitchdown Farm, Briana Duquette from Vermont Tent Company, and Talena Companion of Premier Entertainment and Events. It’s amazing how easy and seamless large events can be when you have amazing, quality professionals behind the scenes working through the logistics together. The wedding community in Vermont is very tight-knit, so the friend/family relationships we all share carries over into how we all handle events and provides an added level of confidence for our couples.

Lastly, this wedding had a super unique and beautiful surprise element: an acorn-shaped treehouse built for the bride and groom by the aunt’s uncle! The detail and craftsmanship in the treehouse was astounding, and completely set up with champagne and treats for a cozy first night as husband and wife! Only in Vermont.
