Easy Ways to Collect Guest Mailing Addresses

With today’s technology of emails and social media, address books are a thing of the past. Whether you’re having a wedding, birthday party or sending out baby announcements, we can all agree that finding the most current mailing address of your friends and family is difficult.

Something mothers often teach, especially during the Holiday Season, is to save any cards received in the mail. As you are likely to get Holiday Cards from friends and family this season, be sure to take note of the address or even save the envelope with the return address on it. This way your friends and family's current residence is always up to date in your contacts. Add these addresses to our online address book to easily manage contacts. Follow the steps below to make collecting addresses for a guest list of any size a piece of cake!

Easy Way to Collect Guest Mailing Addresses

To get started, create your Basic Invite account by clicking on the Account dropdown in the upper right-hand corner and selecting "Sign up". Once your account is set up, follow these four steps. Your address book will be organized and ready for the big day in no time.

Step 1:
Login to your account and select "My Address Book" in the left-hand navigation if on mobile, or click "Account -> Address Book" in the upper right-hand corner if on desktop. On your address book page, there is a section that says "Share your private link." You can send the private link to friends and family, so they can add their addresses to your address book.

Step 2:
When your contact browses to the personalized link, it will bring them to a page where they can fill out their contact information. They can include names, mailing address, and email.

Step 3:
As contacts submit their information, it will be be stored neatly and securely in the address book of your account.

Step 4:
After you have received all of your guests’ addresses, you can easily select them when placing an order with our mailing service option. You can also import contacts via our import feature located on the address book page. This page allows you to update, delete, and add contacts as necessary, which makes sending invitations a breeze.
