Q1. How did you become a Photographer?
Photography was always an interest of mine. In high school I dreamed of traveling and photographing for National Geographic. Eventually, I saved up to buy my first camera. After my husband and I got married we traveled to Israel for 6 months. I really explored photography there and took hundreds of photos every day. When we returned to Texas, I had a photo exhibit of the photos I took in Israel. From there I began photographing portraits and events and now focus primarily on weddings!
Q2. Which is your favorite lens? Why?
Nikon 85mm 1.8 It gives amazing bokeh and is flattering for portraiture.
Q3. When you go in one of your travels, what all you take with you? Why?
It mostly depends on what types of gigs we have booked during our travels. If we are photographing an event or wedding we'll bring a flash + batteries otherwise I will just take my Epiphanie camera bag, Nikon D600, 85mm 1.8 and 35mm 1.4.
Q4. Among the gadgets that you own, is there something that you wish you hadn’t bought? Why?
When I bought my first camera I also purchased a zoom macro lens. I never used it.
Q5. What do you want your viewers to take away from your work?
A story. A feeling. A moment.
Q6. What kind of tools do you use for post processing? Explain your work flow.
I use photomechanic for culling and then lightroom for editing. I then upload the images to pixieset for viewing and downloading.
Q7. How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?
There are many photography workshops available for professionals. I recently attended the Develop Retreat for Photographers and it was an amazing experience!
Q8. Among your works, which one is your favorite? Why?
A few months ago we created a styled wedding shoot with several other very talented wedding vendors. I enjoyed planning and styling the shoot and working with the vendors as a team. It was also one of my favorite works because we shot at a cotton field and I had been dreaming of shooting at a cotton field for years.

Q10. What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
Photography is a lot more of sitting in front of a computer then behind a camera. Lucky for me I enjoy editing almost as much as shooting :)
