Bethaday Community Learning Space: Make Memories, Make Change, and Make an Impact!

We are Technology Access Foundation’s Bethaday Community Learning Space.

Where did the name Bethaday come from? BCLS was named by TAF supporter Ken Birdwell and TAF’s Executive Director Trish Millines Dziko who combined the names of their heroes in education. For Ken this was Michael Faraday; for Trish it was Mary McLeod Bethune. Hence, the name Bethaday.

We are a nonprofit event venue specializing in weddings, parties, seminars, and educational gatherings. Find us nestled in Dick Thurnau Memorial Park (formerly Lakewood Park) in Seattle, WA. Surrounded by majestic trees and a Frisbee golf course, we are a unique and versatile venue that can’t be matched. Views from our building look out over Hicklin Lake, Madrona and Evergreen trees, and beautiful sunsets.

BCLS will make your next event an unforgettable one. Gather with you friends, family, colleagues, and community members in our Multipurpose Room, Assembly Room, one of our SMART Classrooms, or our Boardroom. Make memories, make change, and make an impact by hosting your event in our welcoming and warm space. All rental proceeds support TAF’s mission of providing science, technology, engineering, and math education to students of color in our region.

Allow us to make your event dreams come true at BCLS. Our friendly and helpful staff Geneva Sharpe, Kelly Wakefield, and Sherry Williams offer outstanding customer service above and beyond their calls of duty. It is our pleasure to invite you into our home. Come join us for a tour to see for yourself everything and more that BCLS boasts!
