Minneapolis Wedding Photographer Christa Reed

Hi there!  My name is Christa Reed and I’m a wedding photographer in Minneapolis.  I started shooting black and white film as a teen.   It was the start of an incredible journey that has lead me to weddings.  I’m thankful for everyone I’ve met along my path as a photographer.  Meeting people and learning their stories is the best part of my career.  My clients are the heart of what being a wedding photographer means to me.

I have a very unposed style of shooting. I want to capture authentic moments during weddings.  I feel when you get down to the details, no two weddings are the same.  I always focus on the couple’s individuality and what makes their wedding personal.

Susie and Andy’s wedding stood out for me this year.  It was early in the season and this was the start of a theme for my entire year.  Many of my coupes had Best Day Ever signs or cake toppers at their weddings, Susie and Andy were the first.  The Best Day Ever is what I want every wedding to be for my couples.

Their day was about coming together for a celebration with their closest family and friends.  We started off at the cozy cabin on Martin Lake where Susie and her attendants spent the night before the wedding.

Susie’s love of Minnesota was represented by the cabin and the amazing stand of pine forest that surrounded us for the backyard ceremony.   Susie’s three brothers officiated.  Andy’s hispanic heritage was included in the necklace exchange they did during the ceremony, and the scrumptious Michelado bar at the reception.  Their meal of gourmet grilled cheese was served by their favorite Minneapolis food truck.

Susie and Andy did an amazing job at planning their wedding!  I encourage couples to take a moment after their engagement to remember the journey that lead them to marriage. Plan a wedding that really embraces who you are together.  Include in your wedding day the things that tell your story.  Find vendors who will get excited with you about your details.  That’s what Susie and Andy did.  I am incredibly thankful that they included me in their wedding.
