Meet Toki Lee | Camarillo Photographer

Hi, my name is Toki and I'm happy to share with you a little bit about me (thanks, Basic Invite!) I am an on-location portrait and headshot photographer based in Southern California. Specifically in the small community of Camarillo which is located halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.  It's truly an honor to be called a beloved Camarillo photographer and I take great joy in knowing that I can make people happy doing what I love. How cool is that?

I am mostly known for my joyful, vibrant and fun images and as most photographers do, I love connecting with people and hearing their stories!

I serve clients from all over Southern California and sometimes from other states and countries too. This awesome young man came all the way from Japan and he wanted to make sure that we spent some time at the beach.

My own story goes something like this... 16 years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and my camera became my lifesaving force during a vulnerable and frightening period of my life. Making photographs of people, places and things uplifted me and kept me focused on the beauty around me.

Eventually, I healed and became a mother to my twin boys who are the loves of my life! I am emotionally connected and passionate about making portraits because I know how remarkable photographs are. I promised myself that once I healed, I would pursue my life-long dream of becoming a full-time photographer, no excuses! And after all of these years, I am deeply grateful and proud to be in a profession that touches others in a powerful way and allows me to leave a small mark in this world. Plus I get to hang out with the nicest, coolest people!

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”  -Aaron Siskind

Whatever it is that you love to do, get out there and do it! Life is too short so don't waste your time wishing for something to happen... you have everything you need right now to pursue your dreams. Al it takes is a little spark inside you and some courage to ignite whatever desire you have in your heart. I'm proof of it and I'm telling you... if I can support my family doing what I love as a photographer, then you can too. Trust yourself!!!
