Hey Yall! My name is Lauren Bennett and I am the coordinator and part owner of Hillside Farms. Our venue is built on our third generation family farm. Our venue was built in 2007 and we've added on to it every year since. We started with a cabin meant for hunting retreats/family gatherings and now have a full blown wedding & event venue! My dad, grandfather, and uncle did almost all of the building and work. I remember even picking out stones around the farm for our chimney with my brother & sister. We always have projects and are always, always looking for ways to grow & improve.
First, let me summarize our family. I am the oldest of the three siblings, at the age of 29. My sister is 26 and brother is 20. My brother handles the landscaping of the farm, and has ever since he was 14-15 years old. It's a huge task that he takes so much pride in. My sister is in charge of our merchandise sales and I am in charge of marketing, scheduling, etc. My dad and step-mom, Cindy, live in our farmhouse on the property and they are the hardest working people I know! The venue would not be anywhere without those two!
A lot of hard work, sweat, and tears have been put into this venue by our family and we've loved watching our venue grow and all of the hard work pay off! It truly never ends, but being able to have a part in people's most important days is more rewarding than words can express! We've grown significantly in the past few years and for that we are so thankful!
I wanted to preface my blog with this back story because here comes the fun part...I'm getting married at our family farm on May 4th, 2019 to my wonderful fiance! I've played the role as director, bridesmaid, friend, family, etc. is so many weddings and now the time has come for my own! This blog will take you through the journey of planning with me and I want to offer up any tips and tricks I learn along the way!
