Sidney Leigh Photography

Hi there, friends! I’m Sidney, a twenty-something small town girl that somehow wound up living in a big city while working as a full time architect, though my heart is steadfast in serving others and capturing the sweetest moments in their lives through photography. About seventy percent of my time is spent shooting weddings and engagements and running a business, and the rest of my time is spent daydreaming about doing just that.38When I was growing up, I never imagined that photography or design would be what I felt called to do. I was seventeen when I purchased my first camera. At the time, someone I held so near to my heart was enduring an unseen burden that was nearly insurmountable. I sold everything I owned that held any significant value at all to give him this camera as an outlet and a new way of choosing to view the gravity that he carried with him, as a way of moving forward and changing his frame of mind. I never could have imagined that a camera would in turn carry me and change my own line of sight. 142Photography quickly became a way for me to challenge myself to see the intangible, to capture emotions rather than the physical, and it has captivated my heart entirely. Being part of the best day in couple’s story and creating memories for them to relive over and over is such a humbling, overwhelming privilege, and I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to share in their love (happy tears and all, haha).16294Each and every wedding and engagement that I’ve photographed has resonated with me in a different way, and it’s so hard to ever choose a favorite! Every single time I think to myself, “Wow. This one is the BEST!”, and I hope that feeling never fades. It’s impossible to pinpoint a wedding that I love any more than the rest, but I’ve chosen to share a wedding that was local to my hometown that really put a twist on the rustic trend with a classic, neutral palette with pops of gold and champagne. The designer in me was over the moon at how beautifully detailed this wedding was, and it truly was a joy to photograph such a beautiful, sweet day in the small, rural Virginia town that I love so dearly.1 188 5 31021 12 28 24 20 30 36 3446494452
