I'd like to start with saying that I am very honored and thankful to have had Basic Invite reach out to me, in hopes that I would share some of my work. Thank you for this opportunity.
My name is Cassie and I reside in Massachusetts. I have two children, 5 and 6. They often drive me crazy but I love them to pieces. I am very lucky to have an amazing man by my side. He is my rock. I work 40 hours a week as a medical assistant and phlebotomist. Before this I was a stay at home mom. That's where I discovered my passion for capturing moments in photos.
Simple day trips with my kiddos would turn into a handful of photos, taking up all the memory on my iPhone. Can we say Instagram addict too? I couldn't stop editing!! Friends and family kept telling me to invest in a digital camera. I found their comments humbling. I eventually bought a DSLR and the rest is history. I think I had my first photo session a week later.
I've been asked to pick one photo event to write about. Honestly, that is very hard. I have had many great experiences with all types of photo sessions. I am always learning and trying to better myself and my client's experience. I love capturing families on new journeys. So for that reason, I would like to share photos of the Benassi Family. We first met for their maternity photos, again for their newborn session and then I was lucky enough to capture their wedding day. I feel very blessed to be able to capture these big life events for their family.
Jacklyn and James had been gifted a maternity session with one of my gift certificates. I got in contact with Jacklyn and we set a time and place to meet. They wanted to be photographed at Castle Island in Boston, MA.
It was a beautiful Saturday. It was as if the city was empty. No traffic, no horns. We met early afternoon with hopes of having the sunset in some photos. The day couldn't have been more perfect.
I was so happy and proud of these photos (and very new to editing) that I tried protected them from being stolen by putting my watermark is the most important part pf the photo. That 'good at the time' idea is biting me in the tush now. haha
My next meeting with Jacklyn and James was for their newborn photos. They decided they wanted their new baby Vinny to be photographed at Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield. It was a gorgeous fall day here in Massachusetts.
During Jacklyn and James' newborn session, they were engaged. They were talking of their wedding with excitement. Telling me where it was going to be held, how many guests... When they asked if I was available to photograph the event I was super excited. It was a great feeling to be trusted to capture all of these important milestones in their lives.
After the happy couple tied the knot, we drove to Salem, MA and hopped on a boat to dance and party the night away.
