I am a wedding photographer serving the Twin Cities and Wisconsin areas, and I am originally from Switzerland. I am available for destination weddings.
I have always been an artist in some ways. I need to create in order to be happy. My first real camera that I bought was on a weekend trip to Paris in 2005 with my now wife. I had enough of snapshots and thought that Paris would be the perfect place to take photography more serious. So instead of just shooting the obvious, I took street photography shots, arty building shots and tons of pictures of unique scenes. I fell in love with it. Of course, the learning curve was a little harder then because everything was still analog and you had to buy expensive film.
I worked as an interior designer for nearly 20 years and did work in China, Dubai, France, USAand Switzerland. The job was my passion but something was missing.
In 2007 I left everything behind me that I dearly loved to support my wife who wanted to move back to the USA. (Wisconsin / Minnesota Border). We live with our 3 girls and our golden doodle in a nice university city called River Falls.
One day, a friend of mine asked me to photograph his wedding and that’s how it started. What I enjoy about wedding photography is the mix of styles such as portraiture, journalism, artistic styles, details, etc. I feel blessed being a part of such an important event.
This particular wedding is of Daniel and Nicole, a couple that enjoys the fine things in live and loves photography. They let me photograph whatever I wanted. We were like friends that day and we are still in contact. Last year they called me to photograph them again and together with their baby. They recently moved to Asia for work. He works in IT and she is a children's doctor. It didn’t feel like work to me because I just wanted them to have killer photos of their day.
I always work on improving my style. Every single wedding I try to outdo myself. I live for moments and I want to portrait your story in a creative and fun way.
The most satisfying part of this work is probably the comments I get after the clients receive their photos. It gives me a kick every time!
