Kimberly Cauble Photography

Hello!  I’m Kimberly of Kimberly Cauble Photography.  I’m a wife, mommy, full-time teacher, and wedding/portrait photographer!  I’ve had my part-time photography business for a little over five years now, but I’ve been taking photos since I was a youngster in the 80s (my Cabbage Patch Kids were my first models!).  This might date me a bit, but my first camera was a Kodak 110 with drop-in film cartridges, and then I had a couple of 35mm film cameras (I lost my first flipping over a canoe!). In college I moved onto digital photography with a Sony Cybershot 3.2 (Wow, how things have changed!).  Now I’m shooting digital photography with a Nikon d700 and d810.

KCP-17-23Stories and memories have always been important to me.  I have shelf after shelf full of scrapbooks and photobooks, one that I made for my late grandmother when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s to help her remember who was who in the family.  Being able to visually remember my childhood and preserve stories and memories for my own children is one of my passions, and I love that I’ve been able to turn that passion into a business!

I’m a full-time middle school teacher (6th grade Language Arts) and a mommy to two young boys, so I have to do some pretty serious juggling to maintain a balance in my life. I limit myself to 10-12 weddings a year and do portrait sessions for couples, families, and seniors, mainly in and around my hometown of Clover, SC (just across the state line from Charlotte, NC).  I get to travel occasionally, and I hope to do more of that once my children (and husband, lol!) are a little less dependent on Mommy!

One of my favorite shoots was an engagement shoot this past Spring at Lake Murray, SC.  The couple, Sophia and Spencer (who will be married this November), wanted to do a shoot near water and eventually end up in the water!  But the day of their shoot, it was pretty cold and just beginning to drizzle.  That didn’t stop them, though…they didn’t care about being cold or wet!   The cloud cover provided us with perfect, soft lighting, and even though it must’ve been freeeeeeezing in that lake, they jumped right in!  The rain held off until the very end of our session, and what we ended up with is a series of amazing images that captures their love for each other and adventurous personalities perfectly!

This is what I love about photography—being able to capture moments and stories like theirs and preserve them for years to come.   I love working with adventurous people who are willing to think out of the box, jump into lakes, hike deep into the forest, and experiment with obscure locations.  I’ve also been known to climb trees, wade into lakes and streams, and climb to the top of a roof just to get the perfect shot!
