Hot Air Balloon Festival
This year mark’s 33 years of Ballooning in Plano, Texas. It is a spectacular three-day event beginning at 4:00pm Friday, September 22nd at Oak Point Park. The weekend event offers something for everyone; entertainment, Saturday evening spectacular fireworks show, special kids activities, sky divers, an enormous variety of food to tempt your taste buds, and of course the incredible hot air balloons.
The Interurban Railway Museum
The Interurban Railway Museum is strategically located in historic downtown. Amenities such as a playground, picnic tables, a bandstand, and a small pond can be found within the park surrounding. Museum guests will enjoy a tour of Railway Post Office Car #360, guided by a uniformed rail car motor man. Guests will learn about the rail post office system, discuss period advertising in the train car and learn more about electric rail travel.
