Planning a Team Member's Wedding

15 years... 2019 will mark our 15th anniversary of planning spectacular weddings and events in New England. It’s hard to believe that much time as passed. We've watched technology grow, trends change (and come full circle… hello again, coral!), and our team grow and evolve.  We wouldn’t change a second of our experience and are still fully in love with what we do! Planning a wedding is one of the most rewarding careers out there. The fact that couples trust us to assist in planning and executing one of the most important days of their lives is not something we take lightly. But we are nothing without our team!

Intern Turned Bride

Throughout the years, we have had a steady stream of interns, who wish to learn about wedding planning come through our doors. We love that we can help students develop their career and dreams. Helping them to determine what it is they want to pursue after graduation. We are now at the point where past interns are getting married and requesting Love Affair assist in planning their day. Something we are beyond honored to do.  Emma was the most recent Intern-turned-Bride. She married her longtime boyfriend, Andy this past summer.

Emma's Themed Wedding

Emma & Andy had a starry night themed wedding, due to their shared love of stargazing (something they were doing when Andy proposed). They chose their wedding date, because it was a full moon. Throughout the design, we incorporated the theme; from their stationary design, color scheme (navy and gold), and constellation named guest tables. They had an antique telescope displayed in their reception, and a globe painted to say, ‘To the Moon and Back’, which their cake topper also said.

Emma wanted to include aspects of her Scottish heritage, as a nod to her parents who have both passed away. They had a family friend play the bagpipes for their ceremony processional and recessional. She also had her family tartan placed on her father’s reserved ceremony seat, and incorporated thistle into the bouquets and boutonnieres. We knew this was going to be an emotional day and were so honored that Emma wanted Love Affair to be part of her wedding day.

Emma was not the first intern to enlist Love Affair in planning their wedding day, and she won’t be the last (we have another scheduled for the summer of 2019!). Over the course of our career, we’ve had such a wonderful group of ladies intern with us, and we look forward to continuing these internships, and to hopefully, eventually, plan their weddings!
