mQn Photography {Michele Quattrin}

While I've always had a love for photography since I was a little girl my passion started to develop in college when I started a minor in Journalism. I always thought I wanted to be a writer until I took my first photojournalism class. I found a thrill taking a photograph that could say what 100 words could not.

I have been photographing children and their families for 7 years now. I love the sunshine; when it streams through the windows, when it peeks through the trees, when it sparkles in the eyes. I’m always in search of that warm beautiful light. And to capture that in camera . . . well that just makes me smile.

This past summer I got to photograph this beautiful high school senior.  Marena is a beautiful young woman both inside and out, with a radiant smile.  She is a top swimmer for our local swim club, North Suburban Aquatics Club, placing 4th in the breaststroke at sections.  Not only does she have the brawn but she has a brain as well; Marena, while attending high school is simultaneously taking college courses at Northwestern.   Great things are in the future for this young woman.

While I mostly photograph young children and families I have been loving photographing seniors.  They are so much fun and full of life!  They have big dreams and huge goals and they make me feel better about our future societies.  I look forward to hearing how the seniors I photograph succeed and make their dreams come true.
