Kathleen Shaneyfelt Photography: From the coast to a landlocked state

I began taking photos 9 years ago, and have had the most incredible time capturing so many unique moments since. I grew up in Southern California and decided to settle in Kansas City 6 years ago. Go Royals!

My style of photography is using mostly natural light and focusing on genuine lifestyle and documentary style shots . I don't prefer using a flash unless we're getting down on the dance floor..haha. I strive to shoot candid, genuine and unposed moments, as those are the memories we want to look back at most. I have so much fun taking photos at weddings, anniversaries, families and engagements.

I have taken photos in Kansas, Arkansas, California and Alaska. I love to travel and capture all the beautiful moment around me!

--Little Rock, Arkansas--April 16th. 2016--

This was by far one of the most beautiful, joyful and tearful weddings I have ever attended, or shot.

My senior year of college, my roommates loving mother passed away after bravely fighting renal cell cancer. Her dad, easily of of the most outgoing and generous humans I know was devistatedly heartbroken. It wasn't until a few years after that he met a smart, gorgeous, faith-filled woman that truly helped bring back that light in his life.

They fell in love and decided to get married in April of 2016. I was beyond blessed to document their vows. I packed up my gear and jumped in a restored school bus/party bus with a friend of mine, and drove down to Little Rock to witness the sacramental vows these two incredible people exchanged.

Here's the visual story of their wedding day and proof that those that suffer can have a restored, beautiful life.
