Mike Glatzer Photography-Atlanta, GA

Hey there everyone! My name is Mike and I'm an Atlanta, GA based Wedding and Portrait photographer. I first picked up a camera at 15 years old on a cloudy day with my uncle. We were photographing osprey, and as I took a turn behind the lens one flew by with a fish in its talons. My uncle quickly pushed me into the dirt, grabbed the camera, and snagged the images. This dance repeated three more times before I finally said, “Dang it! I'm gonna nail that shot!” I've been taking pictures ever since.

My background is totally nuts - I graduated college with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, but I also grew up a theater kid. Translation: I'm that extroverted introvert who is crazy organized, loves working with people, and is obsessed with vibrant stories and colors. I never felt I fit in the box of today's trends; my photographic style is clear, crisp, true-life color documentary, with a strong emphasis on dramatic lighting. I prefer staying back and capturing the day as it happens, stepping in only when I see an incredible shot that I want to create or when it's time to herd the cats and do family portraits!

I honestly don't have a favorite session because I remember my couples more than the pictures I capture. I'd rather fill my portfolio with them instead of my images! A recent session that I really enjoyed though was Amy and Erica's wedding. I loved this session for a number of reasons - the venue of Cloudland Canyon State Park was absolutely unreal, Erica & Amy were my brand of goofy and kind, and I felt more like a guest than a vendor with their family and friends.

It was the kind of small and intimate wedding that reminded me why I love photography in the first place - beautiful stories. People flew in from all over the country to celebrate these two and talking with them about why they made the trip was so heartwarming. The speeches were especially tear-jerking, and their nieces were so obnoxiously inquisitive that I had to stifle my giggles all day. For me, that day was exactly what a wedding should have been, and that's why it's one of my favorites.
