Positively Perfect Photography by Stephanie Williams-Turkowski

Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Williams-Turkowski, the owner of Positively Perfect Photography, and I am beyond honored to be featured on Basic Invite’s blog. I am currently studying at Texas Tech University to obtain my PhD in Mass Communication and I run my photography business on the side. I capture moments for people of the Texas Panhandle and let me tell you, nothing can beat a sunset in this area of the country!

Photography has always been a part of my life. My first camera was a Crayola film camera that was specifically for children to play with. Of course, I thought I was a professional photographer even then, setting up my camera on a make-shift tri-pod (my t-ball tee) and posting signs on my fence advertising photos with my cats for $5. I have grown quite a bit since then studying photography in college, being a photojournalist, teaching photography to undergraduates, and of course owning my own business. I now shoot with a Nikon D750 and am Adobe Cloud Certified to offer my clients professionally edited photos and designs.

To me, photography isn’t just about a business, but an art form that allows you to connect with others. That is why I choose to be a budget friendly option in my home area. I don’t feel like someone should go bankrupt to enjoy quality photos of themselves and their loved ones. This is a passion for me and I want nothing more than to simply share my God given talents with others so that they can look back on cherished moments of time forever.

My specialty is family and senior photography, but I adore capturing love with engagements and weddings. I also dabble here and there in newborn and pet photography. I am always researching and trying new techniques to expand my knowledge of this field and be creative for my clients.

I believe that Walt Disney had the right idea when he said, "Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language." I try to capture the world as a moment in time, not a overly posed image. I feel that pictures should tell a story and transport you back to the time and place in which it was taken.
