Hello everyone, I'm Kari - the face behind Kari Harder Photography. I am based out of La Crete: a small cultural town nestled in northern Alberta, full of kind & beautiful people. Though I am Canadian-based, I have a passion for travelling and absolutely love destination weddings!
I've been fascinated with pictures for as long as I can remember. Though I only launched my business Kari Harder Photography in January 2014, I am going into my seventh year of wedding photography! Currently I have shot 50 weddings, 45 of them solo, with my 2017 season filling up fast. How many engagement and family sessions? Oh boy... I've lost count.
My photographic style is a fine balance between dramatic fine art and classic photojouranism. My photos have become known for their artistry - rich colours and contrast. I have no problem taking control of a large group of people, arranging and posing my subjects, or setting up flash for cool effects. However for the most part I am a natural light photographer. Waiting and watching from behind the scenes, thinking, "What I can create out of this ordinary moment?". I purposely shoot with long lenses so I can step back and watch the moment unfold.
I am passionate about people, documenting their love and making sure every last detail of the story in covered! As your wedding photographer, it is my goal to capture every moment of your big day; from posed family shots, to Dad wiping away a tear as he gives his daughter away, to beautiful formals of you two newlyweds, to Grandma laughing at the reception, to all the little details that you have spent so much time (and money) deciding and dreaming about. All you have left at the end of the day are fading memories, and I'm here to make sure that not a moment of your special day will be forgotten.
