Why, hello there! I’m Alanna and I love love. I’m the gal behind Alanna Hogan Photography, a seacoast wedding and elopement photographer serving Maine, New Hampshire, New England and beyond. I like to say that I serve free spirits in love and adventurers at heart – the kind of carefree, wildly in love couple that’s always down for a little hike in the mountains, or a barefoot stroll with sand in their toes and salt in their hair.
I launched my photography business post-college with a long love for the art form, having gone to school for business and having practiced photography as a hobby for years – a passion that sparked from my dad’s own interest in the camera.
As winter approaches here in New England, it seems fitting that I share a favorite styled wedding of mine:
A whimsical winter elopement in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
I had creative free reign when putting together this romantic styled elopement, featuring cozy, fireside champagne toasts and a snowy lakeside portrait session with a gorgeous mountain backdrop. My inspiration drew from deep, earthy colors; long-sleeve lace and accents of burgundy; and earthy florals and greens straight from a forest.
Our bride and groom happened to be family of mine and were engaged at the time with plans of their own to elope to Iceland with only a few close family members at their side. I knew this styled shoot would be a special opportunity for them to have "wedding photos" of their own, given the fact that their actual wedding would be rather untraditional.
And our talented team of vendors brought their A game! Our cake artist crafted an incredibly unique cake inspired by a wedding gown, with intricate hand-stitched sugar lace and a few beauties from our floral arrangements to top it off.
Our calligrapher created beautiful stationary pieces, including a sketch of the inn and a special creation of hers: timeless and elegant vow books. I had asked the couple to write love letters to each other to read in place of vows, and they beautifully told each other how they envisioned their own wedding day in Iceland to be, and how excited they were to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a special way to add a personal touch to this staged, yet somehow real, celebration.
Feel like connecting? There's nothing I love more than a good love story, and it would be an honor to hear (and to document) yours. Find me online and let’s chat!
