Hello there, I'm Helena, and I'm a destination family and children's photographer with a client base in Fairfield County Connecticut and surrounding New England. I travel worldwide across Europe and the United States and I love photographing families in a style that is modern, classic and magically lit while always remaining timeless.
As a children's photographer, I've learned more about living life well from my little subjects than any other. Being around kids is a constant reminder for me to enjoy, play and seek simplicity. It was through working as a children's photographer that I've learned how children are, in fact, our greatest teachers.
What We Can Learn From Children - Connecticut Family Photographer
As a visual storyteller, I believe in sharing stories that elevate the simple joys around us. I recognize how temporary life is, how fleeting these moments and stages are in each individual’s life.
Because of this present-moment awareness, I deeply value the importance of living life fully, loving others deeply and preserving my most cherished relationships through timeless, meaningful portraits.
Warm, intimate, playful, emotional, genuine, joyful, intense..
These are words I would also use to describe childhood.
I believe that children are magic, that they have much to teach us about the world, and that there is always time for play, wonder and curiosity in our lives. In fact, we could look to children for guidance on how to live our best lives!
Children fascinate me. I find the world is more magical and joyful through the eyes of a child.
They find it easy to appreciate the small minutae of existing, the simple mundane of our everyday.
It is for this pure reason that, as a photographer, my favorite portrait subjects happen to be children.
I believe children embody the heart of family portraiture.
They are as real and honest as it gets. They find it natural to play, to dream, to connect. It is because of this that I am forever inspired by children.
As a destination family photographer in Connecticut New England and beyond, I find my greatest purpose is in reflecting the light I see and gifting it to others through the art of photography. To document the essence of childhood, so that my clients and families can hold onto a piece of that special time - that feeling of presence, appreciation, joy - forever.
The magic that exists only during childhood vanishes so quickly, but we are left with two things: memories (which inevitably fade with the passage of time) and photographs.
Photographs are solid, tangible memories.
Memories we can appreciate and remember forever... in vintage black and white or in dreamy, vivid color.
My goal is to take photos that are clean and polished - filled with rich light, honest emotion, and connection.
The photos I take absolutely reflect what I believe to be the most important thing in life: the relationships you have with the people you love.
