Hi There!   It's nice to  "E- Meet" you!  haha

I'm Kris and I'm a Wedding and Senior portrait photographer based out of Southern NH.

You know-  There is one core principal which I base my business on... and that  is being personable and authentic.   It's so important to me that I can relate with my clients,  that I actually won't take every wedding/session that comes my way.  Only if I truly feel that we are good fit will I agree to be the one there with you.  Honestly, each client deserves nothing less.    I strive to create images that are emotive and aim to bring out the individuality in each and every person that I work with.   In order to do that-  we must be comfortable with each other.  Therefore- creating a relationship is important to me, and my clients alike.

Your lifetime holds a host of unwritten stories that aren't told by just what you look like.  Like perhaps the first date when you spilled your wine because you were so giddy with excitement and your stomach fluttering with butterflies because -- somehow-- you just knew that this was going to be your last "first date. " Or the day when Grandma gave you her heirloom necklace... the very same one she wore on her wedding day. This small piece of history that brings Grandma back to her day. This treasured heirloom that was a gift from her groom all those years ago.  Or that very moment when your Father see's you for the first time on your wedding day- and he hold's back tears- because... just for a split second- he envisions you as that little girl playing dress-up in your momma's shoes. So many wordless stories like these can be brought out in a wedding photography experience.  When preserved by artisan photography, your most beloved moments and facets of your life can be kept and proudly displayed, to be handed down to the next generation and beyond.

That's what I do.  And I love every minute of it.   :)

     Fun Facts about Kris:

•I'm happiest in warm weather. (Leave me stranded on a beach with palm trees... Yes, please! )

    • If it's coconut- chances are I'm going to LOVE it.

•I have a serious sweet tooth! My family jokes that I can sniff out the hidden snacks in the house. ( My children actually hide their Halloween candy from me–– sad but true! ha).

•I always use a lot of exclamation marks! I'm just excited. I promise I'm not yelling at you! Haha (and if you haven't noticed... I have poor punctuation.)

•I have no problem laughing at myself when I goof up. I also will be the first to admit when I've made a mistake.

•I am a Christian. And I believe we are blessed- rather than lucky.

•However... I also have been known to "swear" a little.  Okay... I have a pretty bad mouth at times.  The joke is I have a sailor's mouth with a Christian heart.

•Good customer service is important to me- therefore I made it a priority for my business.

•Get me talking about photography- and I will talk your ear off. I eat, sleep and breathe thinking about how I can better myself. Other than my family- it's all I think about. Ha

•I'm married to the most wonderful and patient man and I have two spunky boys.  (Jeremy 11 and Kyle 8).

•I am completely in-love with my Dogs Tucker (18-month-old Great Dane) and Bella (a 6-year-old English Bulldog)

It's strange to think photographs used to be a thing of the future. Once created people were baffled that you could sit in front of a big clunky box for 30 seconds as still as a mouse and behold hours later the captured essence of your very being. In present day we often take for granted the true meaning of a photograph.

Photographs to me embody your life at the present moment. Yourself as child, life as a student when you had sleepy eyes and full brains, life as a newlywed nothing but joyous smiles and a full heart, life as parents nurturing their young prepping them for a future beyond your imagining. My photography is "Focused on You."

Sometimes the life of the photographer can show through their work. I grew up on a little dairy farm in a small country town, most days were spent outside admiring nature, drawing, and enjoying all the day had to offer. In college I studied fine arts with a concentration in painting and photography. Painting allowed me see color interaction, how to understand when warm tones or cool tones would be added to make another color pop, create depth, or intensity within your work. It also demonstrated the importance of a well thought out and composed unique work of art. My photography classes focused much on the craft itself, creating our own pin hole camera, soft boxes, spending countless hours dodging and burning images in the film studio trying to perfect that tiny, little grainy frame of film. It is crazy that after 2 years intensive hands on art classes, I was set in a computer lab with my first DSLR camera and Photoshop so amazed at how everything happened at the click of a button. Now I had the chance to express everything I knew the photograph needed but did not possess in the captured image. To me photography was a way for me to create my own works of art. To show the world the awe I felt with nature as a child, to color the world as if it were my coloring book, and to capture the essence of the people right in front of me. Freezing them in real time showing off their uniqueness, their quirks, their family, their special place that holds their most precious memories.

My favorite shoot to date: The Cattersons. A family who lives life to the fullest, who relishes the fact that their kids can go visit Grandma and Grandpa explore in their backyard, pluck and eat fresh raspberries from the bush, smell the flowers, watch the vegetable garden grow, romp around with their dogs, play games with Dad, enjoy some love and attention from mom, and take photos in a space that holds such precious memories. Photography is not about smiling pretty in front of a backdrop, it is about you and immortalizing your life. My mission as a photographer is having clients "Light up with photographs displaying the awe of your world and the beautiful essence that is your life." Here's to the Cattersons!

I cannot believe that I am now photographing people, and I LOVE it! To be honest, I never wanted to take pictures of people, not even snapshots. I always thought I’d be a nature photographer or landscape photographer. I am shy and like to keep to myself. But now that I have tried it, I love being a photographer of people! I like the personal interactions between my clients and I, being goofy to get people to smile, and making them be goofy, although I still love landscapes, especially with these Nebraska sunsets.

I have always had a camera in my hands, basically ever since I could walk. I learned on a film camera and took pictures of everything around me, especially our pets and my toys. I went through quite a bit of film. Although now I am digital, I still love to dabble in film.

Sometimes I get asked what my style is and where I get my inspiration. I grew up outside around nature, and that inspires my style. My style could be said to be based off of nature. I love the warm, bright light of the sun and the vibrant colors of birds and flowers.I raise parrots and finches and care for a few hundred orchids, as if I’m not busy enough! These elements of nature calm me and brighten my days through the dark winter months.

Traveling near and far has been something that I’ve always enjoyed. Finding little corners of the world where others may not want to go. I have travelled to Mexico, Panama, and Canada and to most of the 50 states. I love finding little “hole in the wall” types of places and towns, and I’ve made new friends wherever I’ve gone. My camera is never far from my side wherever I go, preserving and making memories.

This is a recent wedding that I really fell in love with. Travis, one of my best friends got married in Texas. It was an emotional day for a lot of us there who were from Nebraska. He had decided to move there, and it would be the last time we saw him for a long time. It was a beautiful little intimate wedding held at a ranch outside on a beautiful day. I cried a little at the end, I usually do. Weddings get my emotions going and I am always so happy for the couple, but I was especially happy for this particular couple.
