Hello, I am Mason Brooks. I am originally from Omaha, NE but now I live in Hastings and I am a senior at Hastings College that will graduate this May. I have 3 siblings who live in Alabama, Tennessee, and Utah, I have played golf for Hastings the last 3 years but know I am on the tennis team, I lead worship for Cru, and a long time ago I used to work at renaissance festivals… but that was an awkward time. I love Jesus, fashion, Starbucks, playing guitar and going to long bike rides.

I never believed that I could have a job where I would be able to do what I love everyday. I thought that only a few people got to do what they truly love and make a living, so when I started college I chose a major that would eventually lead to a “big boy” job. I suppose I wasn’t the brightest child, but at least someone told me before it was too late…

My goal is to capture moments of emotion in the lives of people, so that they can later look back at those little snapshots. That’s just one piece of the puzzle, though. I also aim to create material that is meaningful, powerful, innovative, and of quality. Whatever I do I want to be able to put my whole heart (and mind) into it because if I put my name on something I want that something to have significance and weight to it. Throughout the last year and a half I have had many opportunities to serve those who are trying to help better the world and it is my joy that I can stand along side them to also help better our world.

This wedding shown was my cousin’s in June of 2016. Its one of my favorites for a number of reasons, the first is because my grandma called me the week before and asked me if I would be her date. Of course I said yes, but I also asked if someone was doing photos and video, and volunteered myself because if I’m there I might as well be making the most out of it. Another reason is because this wedding was in Estes Park, CO so obviously it was an incredibly beautiful. During this time I also had the opportunity to have one of the worst, most horrible, sunburn of my life. No one thought to tell the guy from the middle of flat Nebraska that with elevation the sun gets more intense, ha. On my way home I sat with a bottle of aloe in my lap and constantly applied gel to every part of my body that was consumed by a fiery inferno. Definitely memorable.

I absolutely enjoy what I do, I suppose that’s an understatement, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of what I do for anything else. It brings me joy and satisfaction knowing that I am trying to aid in the betterment of the lives around me.

Hi there! My name is Alana Donovan, and I have been a photographer for quite some time (before digital cameras)!  I would like to say I chose the lifestyle of a photographer, but I truly believe it chose me. Being a mom was and always has been a huge part of who I am: a nurturer, a lover, a caregiver. Nonetheless picking up a camera was one of the most magical things I have ever experienced! As a young girl, I vividly remember hearing the shutter of my mother’s camera and the way my heart connected with it. It was so vivid, that I know without a doubt God put this desire in my heart as young as 12 years old. I loved everything about it and the way it allowed me to express my perspective of the world and people around me. It was MY view of the world and beauty that lies hidden within. I guess you can say it was love at first clickIMG_0489sI bought my first “big girl” camera when my daughter Lauren was born, 25 years ago. I won’t say that I knew photography would be a business for me, but it turned out that way. I’ll be the first to tell you I don’t ‘speak camera’.  I’ve never been technical, but my camera has undoubtedly become an instrument in who God calls for me to be: a creator, artist, and Believer! I don’t rely on technical terms or knowledge to capture my images. I simply use what I think every photographer needs: a passion for photography and a special connection with the people that choose you to document their memories, moments, and love stories. My repertoire ranges from newborn and senior portraiture, all the way to wedding photography.IMG_0674IMG_0470 IMG_0474Every session is truly special to me, simply because of the privilege I had in capturing it. Therefore, I love them all! However, if I had to choose a favorite, the DeWitt wedding would be a favorite! This wedding embodied what I believe to be the center of my work: LOVE. Savannah and Tanner were effortless, happy, and stunningly gorgeous. They trusted in my vision of their day being capture and more importantly, they trusted in my love for them and THEIR love! Their images are simply magical and capturing their ceremony was such a joy. Clients like these are the reason I love my job so much!IMG_0064IMG_0045 IMG_0591IMG_0601As a photographer, I wake up excited to do what I love. Photography was a race I began 17 years ago, and I have never stopped to look back. My camera always reminds me to stay focused on the One Who gave me this passion and gift. He gets all the glory for this dream I'm living.IMG_0131IMG_0313 IMG_0390 IMG_0400 IMG_0411IMG_0641 IMG_0719

I'd love to connect with you!

For years I’ve dabbled in many types of photography: newborn, family, studio, but in 2012 I found my niche in weddings. They are the perfect setting for me to roam creatively free in an atmosphere of love with decorations galore to overwhelm my senses.

I have too much fun!  Armed with a 5d Markiii I leave my worries behind, enjoy a few laughs with the couples that grace me with their presence and snap away.

My photography style is journalistic in nature, with a touch of fine art.  My true goal, however, is to capture the moments that make it memorable:

the love that sparks between the newlyweds...

the relationship of a father giving his daughter away or the tears shed when a mother dances with her son one last time.

    It's true love- real time.

Its hard to say which wedding is my favorite.  Each brings a smile to my face and resonates with me in a special way.  Usually, its the couples themselves; they loosen up around their friends and get a little silly which makes me laugh.  Sometimes its the textures, colors, and details in the decor that excite me.  But every time it’s the pause this life-event brings me. I say a little prayer for the couple before me and ponder my wedding of old. (Deep breath! Dare I even think of my own children getting married?!)

I love everything about weddings this one and the next. I am truly honored for the time I get to spend celebrating with these families.
