I remember the first wedding we shot together. It was a backyard wedding and I remembered thinking I want some shots of the bride coming out to the aisle that I wouldn't be able to get. Lashana was originally there to get behind the scene photos of me but plans had changed quickly. She had captured the whole ceremony and first dance with me & I remember going through the camera cards that night in shock at all the shots I loved that weren't taken by me. That's When I knew I had to get her involved.

Hello everyone! I'm Alyssa Archibald-Reed, and I am the sole photographer at Heaven Leigh Photography in Newport, New Hampshire. I've been in love with photography from a very young age. The very first picture I ever took tucked away in one of my many photo albums. I would take pictures of everything.

I think I can honestly say my sentimentality is what caused my love of photography. I hold on to memories and any trinkets that bring back certain feelings, and the fact that you could take a picture and freeze a moment forever....well it just blew my mind! Without my camera and my photo albums, I'd be lost. Which is why I made the decision to attend the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turners Falls, Massachusetts in 2008. It was a 10 month long school that had instructors who were experienced in the industry, numerous well-known guest speakers, and an equipment room that would make any photographer feel like it's Christmas.

What used to be a love of photographing dolls and family members, has blossomed into wanting to capture moments and share that love with other people. My favorite things to photograph are families (especially if there are younger children, they're just so fun!) and couples, but I also do senior portraits and weddings as well.

Basic Invite told me to choose a session that I loved the most, and I knew there was no decision to be made. I love people who are in love, and aren't afraid to show that love. Therefore, I just knew I had to share my session with Heather and Shane. Heather and her two sisters had contacted me a couple years back to do pictures for their parents for Christmas, and I was so excited when she contacted me again to do pictures of her and her boyfriend, Shane. We went up to Saint Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish, New Hampshire. It is beautiful up there, and I especially love the trail lined with white birch trees.

Toward the end of the session they took me to this older style firetruck on the side of the road, and it was just perfect! The second Heather brought up the idea I was ecstatic. They were so great to work with and I look forward to working with them again someday!

Exciting announcement!! Heather and Shane recently got engaged just a few days before Valentine's Day on their 4 year anniversary, I'm so so happy for them!
