Hello! My name is Kate and I am the owner of Kate Garcia Weddings LLC - a Southern California based photography company that specializes in weddings and engagements! Before we dive into some photographs, let me share a little about me. I grew up with my mom always taking photos and so I think photography was in my blood since entering the world. My parents are a huge inspiration to me, and the hard work that my father exemplified in providing for my siblings and I is a huge reason why I work hard to serve my couples every day! He is the ultimate example of selflessness and hard work, and so I strive to live in his shadow when photographing weddings for incredible couples.

Photos aren’t just two-dimensional. And that’s what makes wedding photography so special. Photos are complex and full of memory, emotion, and love. Isn’t it crazy how you can look at an image from your past and remember the way you felt when it was taken? You are flooded with the smells, feelings, and thoughts of that exact moment. That's exactly why I love what I do- I am able to gift couples with tangible moments from the best day of their lives.

I am Colette and I am in LOVE.

Yes, I am happily married, but I am also in love with photography. ;)

Photographs have always been an important part of my life. My family absolutely loves to take photos for every single life event. My sisters and I each have piles of personalized photo albums bursting with memories organized from birth through high school--thanks to my lovely mother! I didn’t think about photography as a serious career choice for me until I took a photography class in college for fun, and instantly fell in love with it! I quickly updated my major to photography and later added a graphic design major and business minor before I graduated in 2012.

I grew up in a small rural town in Missouri and now live outside of Kansas City with my high-school sweetheart turned husband Michael. As well as running Colette Waters Photography, I am the Photo and Marketing Specialist at Hoffman International Model and Talent Agency in Leawood, KS. I love both of my photography jobs and feel my experience in the model-world gives my photography style a fashion flare. I love capturing movement in my photographs to convey emotions, and always want my clients to have FUN! :D

I also love being creative and recently had a vision of a woodsy, enchanted-feeling orchard wedding. After much thought and planning, I brought together a group of talented people to make it all happen, making this apple themed wedding photo shoot one of my favorite photo shoots ever! I hope you see all of the love we put into this shoot at beautiful Cider Hill Family Orchard in Kansas City.
