I was recently asked about my favorite photography session. I realized this was a near impossible feat- like picking your favorite child or favorite all time book. There are just so many variables that go into a great photography session and capturing those lovely images and lasting memories. Is it the subject? The location? The lighting? The attitudes? Yes, yes and yes. They all play a role. When all those variables align, it can create a truly amazing session. Hello! I am Brittany Prescott a portrait and lifestyle photographer from small town Winchester, Indiana.

First of all I would just like to say how very humbled I am to be featured on http://basicinvite.com ! I still consider myself to be at the beginning of my photography journey and It means a lot to be noticed by such a wonderful company. Now for a little information about the girl behind the lens. I am a 26 year old farmers wife and mama to two, one girl+ one boy! They are the main reason that I decided to pursue photography in the first place and they are my favorite go to subjects (of course!). I have always had a love for photography and with some encouragement from a local friend and fellow photographer I decided to go for it! You could say I haven't looked back since. I am the type of person that when I become passionate about something I put everything I have into it. I am a mostly self taught *photographer* who is constantly striving to learn new ways to improve my photography.

I am so excited to share with you a favorite session of mine. Choosing just one to share was not the most easiest task. However, this session is one of those that I keep coming back to and falling in love with the images even more! Family sessions are definitely my favorite type of session to photograph. I love getting to know each member of the family and witnessing each of their individual personalities. However, with this session from start to finish it only lasted a total of 15 minutes. Those of you who may not be familiar with Indian weather.. it is known to change basically from season to season in a matter of 24 hours. Just a few days before this session we had beautiful fall weather with temperatures in the low 60's. But of course on the day of our scheduled session the temperature dropped down into the low 30's. Luckily, the Dyer family are some of our very best friends and they were up for the challenge!

I still feel that I am trying to figure out my individual photography *style* but I always fall in love with the look of film and moody images are also among my favorites! My favorite type of poses are the unplanned and lifestyle ones. I love capturing laughter, big brother/sister going in for a kiss on their siblings, the way a husband looks at his beautiful wife and the joy on a parents face as they hold their children! This session was filled with those type of moments as mom and dad kept their babies warm and as big brother helped to make baby brother feel comfortable. 

One of my favorite things to do is to end my family sessions with some shots of just mom + dad together! Sometimes it means so much just to have an updated image of husband + wife again!
