Two Kindred Event Planners | The Foundry Wedding

One of the best parts of being wedding planners is that it’s impossible to get bored. Every couple we work with is unique and no two weddings are alike. Our goal is to make your event run like a well-oiled machine, so you can be present and enjoy every moment of this special day, but we also love helping our clients take their mountain of ideas and make them a reality.

We find that many of our clients know what they want but struggle with how to articulate their vision. To remedy this, the first thing we do when working with a couple on the design of their wedding is to meet with the couple early on in the planning process to help them define their aesthetic, determine what they love and hate, and from those findings pair them with the best suited vendors. Not only does this streamline what can feel like a daunting process, but it enables the couple to really tailor the look to exactly what they want and have fun!

The wedding that we’ve featured in this post took place at the Foundry, in New York City. Our couple wasn’t afraid of color and that was music to our ears. While we love classic, simple and refined color palettes that focus on neutrals, we were so excited to have the opportunity to play with color and think outside the box. The couple shared that they wanted to avoid whites and pinks and focus on rich tones like marsala, emerald, mustard and navy.

With these colors in mind, we wanted to use unexpected and unique flowers that would pop in the industrial space. Two organically shaped anad freestanding vertical arrangements flanked the couple during their ceremony in addition to intertwined greenery throughout the second-floor railing. These two elements completely transformed the space and gave the illusion of being in a lush garden while still being inside The Foundry’s main hall.

We continued to incorporate this color palette with rich marigold table linens, navy linen napkins and natural wood bentwood chairs. When all of these components came together on the wedding day it felt like we’d been transported to the countryside of Provence. We helped our couple strike a balance between whimsy and elegance, creating an atmosphere that was inviting, warm, romantic and a touch playful, just like them.
