Two Acorns Photography | Brother & Sister Duo

Hello everyone! My name is Andy and I help run Two Acorns Photography with my sister Janet. We are a brother/sister duo based in Greenville, SC and have been working together for a couple years now. I started as a stylized automotive photographer and Janet in architecture. She has a wonderful eye for color and composition and really provides the vision for Two Acorns. With my background I was able to bring a technical understanding and application of both natural and artificial light to provide a little more depth to our photos. Between Janet's extraordinary creativity and my technical expertise, we figured we would make a great team. Although we may disagree quite often on whose college football team is better, we do share a passion in capturing life's candid moments!

When you start off in this industry and read the blogs and see the portfolios, you start to feel a need to define your photography into a specific category like newborn, wedding, family, etc.

For us, however, photography is all about capturing life unposed and growing with our clients through the different stages of their lives. That's why we chose this family to feature in our post. From just 1 candid snapshot at a backyard BBQ the Ligon Family has been there from the beginning of our business. Fortunately we've been able to watch and capture these fun moments with this family ever since.

For us it's important that these families just have fun when they are out shooting with us. The Ligon Family is the shining example here. It's so rewarding when you can look at these pictures and can truly tell that this is one very fun and loving family full of character!

We focus on creating a casual environment with organic moments and sincere interactions. We love to see kids just be kids and see the love their parents have for them. It's wonderful when you see these interactions, for example, between a mother and child. You can tell they somehow get lost in the moment and it's that moment we want to capture.

It doesn't hurt that the Ligons are super photogenic and happy! Look at this smile!

We really enjoy shooting with the Ligons and this is why we wanted to spotlight this particular shoot. We are so fortunate that we have been able to grow as photographers right alongside this family and that we are able to share their love through our pictures.
