Hey internet pals! I'm Reese, Owner and Photographer of Simple Light Photography Co. My husband of 11 years, Rob, is my business partner and often my second shooter. He is also an awesomely helpful bag carrier when I am on a shoot. We are based in the Seattle area in Washington, but boy do we LOVE to travel! As of today we have been on 6 continents, including two 3 month long trips in the Philippines and South Africa.
I LOVE shooting weddings almost as much as I love to travel. I am a people lover, and there is nothing like getting to know the brides & grooms I capture. This wedding is particularly close to my heart. Not only are the people so, so special to me, but the location is as well. I adore our glorious city of Seattle. It's beautiful in all its forms, rainy and sunny! And it is an epic place to tie the knot. This venue is perfect for intimate weddings. Legacy Studios operated by the Invisible Hostess in Seattle on historic Yesler way in Pioneer Square is one of my favorite locations to date. And the light, and the dress, and the party, and the cookie bar and cheesecake instead of a wedding cake, and the cider from Seattle Cider Co.....I could go on and on. This wedding was the perfect mix of traditional elements and complete surprises which is precisely the type of event I love to capture.
Every person, and by extension, every couple is special and unique. They have their own type of love story. Their own way of seeing the world. And my favorite weddings are the ones where that truly shines through. They do exactly what they want on their wedding day, to truly celebrate their own brand of romance. My couples are the raddest on earth. And capturing that love in my own way, with my own artistic sensibility.......well that is pure magic.
My favorite thing to do for lovely brides and grooms such as these is to surprise them with how fun it is to be in front of the camera. Most couples go into an engagement session with lots of nerves. Memories of stiff poses in front of the camera during school days. But that is not how I roll. Shooting with Simple Light Photography Co can be one of your favorite things about your wedding. I favor relaxed locations where you can truly be yourselves and where you are comfortable enough to be in love. The best images are the ones where the awesome people in them are having a rocking good time. Laughter, kisses, genuine smiles, real love. That is the making of beautiful images.
