Hi there! I'm Heather, a Southeast Michigan wedding and portrait photographer. When I was asked to share one of my favorite sessions, I admit I had to think long and hard - there is something special about each and every person I photograph and it's not easy to choose a favorite.
Last summer, I photographed a wedding that was, really, a dream for me. It was classy and simple, yet bright and unique. Everything I love about weddings, all wrapped into one. The bride and groom were the same themselves - classy people who are laid back and live to serve the ones they love. It's a refreshing and beautiful thing when you see a couple who cares so deeply about the people around them that they don't even care if 500 things go wrong on their wedding day - as long as the people they love are enjoying themselves.
For me, this wedding was a turning point in my career as a photographer - it captured my heart like no other. It solidified the fact that this is what I want to do with my life. Holding a bride's hand and telling her that everything is going to be just fine is, honestly, the highlight of my day. I'm a nurturer at heart, so being there on someone's most important day ever is so good for my soul. This wedding lifted my heart - so much so that even when my car was broken into outside of the venue, my heart was still so light that I was able to keep my cool! And yes, I know that it was a really bad choice to leave anything within visibility in my car in Detroit. I must've just been swept up by the enchantment of the day ;).
