With a love for storytelling, artistic photojournalism, and capturing the emotions of those that are kind enough to share, Terroir Photography by Ashley Barnes, was born. In 2008, Ashley moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina for three years, picked up a camera, and started documenting the various cultures in South America. A few years later, she was asked to photograph her first wedding, loved the experience, and upon moving to New York City after three years in Buenos Aires, she established Terroir Photography. Although she is based in NYC, wedding photography has taken her to France, the Dominican Republic, Buenos Aires, Cape Cod, Montana, amongst many other destinations.
Terroir is a French word meaning, “a sense of place”, and Terroir Photography makes sure that in whatever setting on whatever day, your sense of place is captured. With a photojournalistic, candid, and artistic approach, Ashley Barnes will capture your day with authenticity and unmatched vision.
The particular wedding featured here is a New York City couple who opted to get married in Atlanta, Ga, as that is where the bride spent her adolescent years (as did lead photographer, Ashley Barnes). The reception was held at the historical and breathtaking, Swan House at Atlanta History Center. The groom, being from the Netherlands, and the bride with a strong foundation in NYC, created the perfect wedding to match their style. With the loving mix of luxury, hints of vintage style, and a European feel, the couple planned this day with every moment being a classic touch . From the unforgettable dress worn by the beautiful bride, to the checkered dance floor, complete with a D.J. hovering above in what appeared a lush green balcony, and most importantly, the love this couple shared, this wedding was among the favorite of all the weddings photographed by Terroir Photography by Ashley Barnes.
