Portraits by Mandy | Texas Destination Wedding

When someone says "destination" wedding, what comes to mind? Crystal blue oceans? Lush tropical palm trees? It's true the Caribbean is a magical place to get married, but destination weddings have a much broader definition to a wedding photographer.

To this Midwest photographer, a destination wedding meant hopping on a plane in the Mitten State and traveling to the big ol' state of Texas! Instead of oceans and palm trees, think sweeping ranch lands and long-horn cattle. Matt and Danielle planned the perfect Texas wedding, combining gorgeous rustic details with just the right amount of pop and sparkle.

Their Story

On St. Patrick’s Day, 2012, Matt - a sweet, southern gentleman - and Danielle - an adorable city girl from Michigan - were set up on a blind date while Danielle was in Texas visiting a friend.

Danielle bought her first pair of cowboy boots as they went out dancing in College Station and the rest was history.

After two years of long distance dating, and many trips back and forth from Michigan to Texas, Danielle went all in and moved to Katy where she and Matt got a place together.

While traveling to 25 different cities together and building memories over the years, the love continued to grow between them. Since the day they met, both were confident they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. On June 26, 2016 Matt got down on one knee and proposed to Danielle in his parents’ backyard.
