My name is Katelyn Stanis and I’m the owner and creator of Wedding Words, a wedding vow, speech, and ceremony writing service.
With a B.A. in Journalism, I’ve always loved asking people the right questions to learn about their own unique story.
Today, I use that same desire to write emotionally impactful wedding vows, speeches, proposals, and ceremonies.
If you’re like most people, you’re wondering how I got started with such an uncommon service.
It actually happened during the weekend of my grandfather’s funeral. My dad struggled with how to convey his emotions into the form of a eulogy.
So I worked with him line by line to rewrite the speech based on stories that my dad told me about his own father, in his own words.
After that experience, I knew there had to be other people who also struggled with how to articulate their feelings through milestone moment speeches.
And that’s how Wedding Words was born.
I love this story because it also speaks to my belief that everything happens for a reason and when we’re open to it, we can find magic in even the darkest moments.
Wondering how I’m able to write something as personal as wedding vows for someone I just met?
Here’s how the process works.
Whether it’s custom vows, a parent speech, maid of honor speech, or best man speech that we’re working on, the process is the same.
First, we meet on a video call. This is where I dive deep into questions that I know will provide me with the right material to write custom vows and speeches.
Next, I write the first draft based on our conversation. The client gets a chance to review and provides their own edits and feedback. Once the revision process is completed, I provide a video with custom public speaking tips.
My clients walk away feeling less stressed and more excited.
