McSween Photography | North Carolina Wedding Photographer

A little about us

Hello. My name is Tanya, my husband Harry and I are wedding photographers based in the gorgeous North Carolina mountains. A part from Wedding photography we are outdoor lovers, avid coffee drinkers and parents to our three ankle biters. We love people and getting to know their stories. We love capturing every part of a wedding day. And not only that, but investing our time and energy creating images that our couples will never forget.

I was in middle school when I found my grandfather's Canon AE-1, and the dream was sparked. From the moment I put film in that camera I was hooked. Since then I worked for a sports photography company all through high school and college. After graduating with a fine arts degree in 2007, I started McSween Photography with my husband Harry. We teamed up to start the company in 2010, and have loved every minute photographing our couples.

A Classy Wedding in the North Carolina Mountains

Meet Ronald and Rachel. These two love birds met in the mountains of North Carolina working together at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters as students in the institute program. They started dating in August of 2016. In April of this year Ronald proposed at Shackleford Banks in North Carolina, with the words, “Marry Me” written in the sand. Of course Rachel said, “Yes”, and the wedding plans began.

They were married at McGuires Millrace Farm nestled in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina, under a row of perfect birch trees. Every detail of their ceremony was beautiful. The rain threatened all week, but the day turned out to be amazing. From the dark blue suits to the the bridesmaids all a sparkle, everywhere you looked was stunning. After their ceremony they headed to The Hackney Warehouse to celebrate with friends over breakfast for dinner. The sweet words from friends, toasting the new couple, and dancing into the evening brought joy to all in attendance. Then through a sparkling send off, to Kiawah Island, South Carolina they went.
