I've always loved being behind the scenes. Before I hit college, I bought my first fancy camera, a Nikon Coolpix. I was so excited to spend my money on such a cool looking camera. I started out doing lots of free photoshoots for my friends and learning as much as possible.

I bought a different camera every year, usually bigger and more complex. I wanted to keep growing, to keep pushing myself to new limits with photos.  By the time I finished college, I had my first Canon DSLR camera. It was absolutely amazing. I learned everything about a DSLR by taking a photography class, and never stopped shooting.

Then finally, I got my first real gig in 2016. My friends asked me to shoot their wedding. After their wedding, my boyfriend asked, "Why don't you actually pursue this for real? You have the talent for it." It hadn't even occurred to me I could be making some extra money because I had so much fun doing it.

Now here we are, two years later. I have a full-blown website, inquiries almost weekly for photoshoots, and so many wonderful clients who I adore. I can proudly say I am a 25-year-old professional Seattle photographer who does weddings, families, engaged couples, maternity, newborn, and portraits shoots. I am a jack of all trades, and I shoot all over Seattle, Everett, Mount Vernon, and Bellingham!

I'm still growing, which is why I always value the input and advice of my friend, a well-known wedding photographer. She's helped guide me, and expand my mind in ways I never even thought possible.

Even when I had to take a 7-month break when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, my clients supported me. One even knit me a homemade hat! It was so hard to stay away from the camera, and just focus on fighting the cancer.

Luckily, I have been declared cancer-free as of March 2018! I am so happy, and so blessed.

The joy I get from capturing a perfect moment, a natural pose, even a laugh is still my favorite part of being a photographer. I love seeing inspiration unfold behind the camera.

All these pictures in this post are from my favorite shoot. This was a newborn shoot and the 5th child in their family! All of the items used in these shots were given by her friends or family and hold special sentimental value. I did this mom's maternity shoot as well, and this family holds a special place in my heart!
