Indiana Engagement Session | Bailey Warren Photography

I’ve been asked the same question many times during the six years that I’ve been a professional photographer. “What was your favorite session?” For me, it’s always been difficult to narrow down a particular favorite. Every session has had its rewarding moments with different types of people, all with unique stories to tell. It's much easier to narrow down the types of sessions that are my favorite.

Engagement sessions have always been the most near to my heart. There's something special about photographing the beginning of a couple’s life journey. There is a promise of a future together with many firsts: setting up a home, building a family and forever waking with your person at your side. Everything is new and exciting, and it shows in a couple's expressions. This particular couple, Rylee and Mitch, had a blast at their session, which also made it a lot of fun for me behind the camera. They were cracking jokes, teasing, flirting and simply enjoying every minute of their time together. Their connection and friendship was a wonderful thing to witness.

In addition to their cuteness, Rylee and Mitch were also the first couple to wake early and do a sunrise session with me. The results were incredibly beautiful! There was a creamy glow streaming through the trees and a calmness and quiet that can't be found any other time of day. Then the session became even better when the couple guided me to one of their chosen locations. For years, as I drove past this particular spot I would literally gasp. The lush grass and mature, towering trees were breath-taking. There was an old pier creeping out over the edge of a quaint lake. It seemed almost foreign to the usual landscape of Indiana. I had dreamt of one day having the opportunity to shoot there, and that day had arrived.

As a photographer, when you’re handed a dream location and insert a gorgeous couple in love, the results can be magical.
