For the Hopeless Romantic

Hey there! I'm Rachel, a wedding and portrait photographer and a hopeless romantic drawn to the art of storytelling through soulful words and timeless imagery. I’m a believer, an aspiring renaissance woman (if that’s a thing), and a lover of history, travel, and adventure. Born and raised a small town girl who loves the quiet places between towns, where the stars shine brighter and you only hear the waves crashing or the wind through the mountains; But I am also a woman who fell in love with the excitement of new places and so I left home to embark on this journey. My passion is creating a love that never dies and cultivating a marriage that is just as amazing after 50 years as it is the day you say "I do".

I would like to share my absolute favorite shoot with you. This was a REAL wedding with deadlines, crazy family members, and mishaps but no less magical. One of the things I love about this shoot is the history that this gorgeous venue embodies. The venue is a church that was brought over brick-by-brick from Spain in 1925! It is now a famous venue for weddings and photo shoots but it is still a church today and you can attend mass! You can read more of its amazing history here.  To be able to capture every detail and romantic moment of this day was an honor.

Because I am a sucker for love stories and I hope you are too.. Here is my own love story that isn't told that often.

We first met on tinder in the summer of 2016. I know what you're thinking.. I mean its known for being a hookup site but we were both on there as a joke or because of pressure from friends. Little did we know that after just one conversation about philosophy and one date over Oreo milkshakes and a seaside stroll at sunset, we would fall head over heels with the love of our lives and never look back. During the 5 weeks following, while I was traveling in Italy, the distance was lessened through our long phone conversations and the endearing poetry he wrote for me almost daily. And that's when I knew I loved him. We eloped after just 5 months (yikes!) and nearly a year and a half later, we are still inseparable and planning our wedding that is just 1 month away. Life has a way of throwing curve balls sometimes but I am so thankful for my forever and I wouldn't change a thing. The best part is, he supports me every step of the way in my photography career.

Now its your turn. What's your love story?
