First Steps as Husband and Wife {McKiss Portraits}

I've pretty much always grown up with a camera in my hand. My parents are both photographers by profession, so their studio was my playground. When I was 13 they let me shadow them on photoshoots and help out for some extra spending money. I soon grew to love it and knew I had found my call in life.

Blessed to find my career at such an early age, I strived to become the best in my field. So by now after 14+ years of hard work I have received many awards and different forms of recognition over the years.

On of my favorite weddings was actually published on NBC National and ABC Global news.

The bride and groom’s story is seriously what movies are made from!

Jamie Nieto and Shevon Stoddart are both Olympic athletes. That’s cool enough as it is, but what set them apart was their love and dedication to each other and to life.

Not to mention they are an absolutely STUNNING couple inside and out!

.

A little over a year before the wedding, Jamie was in a training accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. A devastating accident for anyone, let alone and olympic athlete.

He vowed to his bride that he would work hard and over come his injury so that he could walk her back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Through hard work and perseverance, he was able to leave his walker behind and stand next to his beautiful bride as they made their vows to one another.

As husband and wife they walked together down the aisle, fulfilling the promise Jamie had made to Shevon just a year before their wedding.

As a photographer, I get to be there for the best day of people’s lives. That’s what I love. I get to create images that capture the emotion of the day. And I’ll tell you.. This was an emotional day.

Every detail was beautiful.

My favorite moment of the night was their first dance.

Shevon was just beaming with pride and love that she had for Jamie. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room including my own.

It's moments like this that make me so grateful that this is my job!
