Hi there! My name is Whitley and I am the photographer of Whitley Brandenburg Photography. I am a photographer originally from Richmond, Kentucky but am currently living/working in Palm Springs, California. I am a lover of natural light and real, raw, candid moments. My love of photography started when my mother bought me my first camera when I was in 8th grade. I was looking for a creative outlet and trying to "find myself" like most middle schoolers do; photography became my identity. First, I was just photographing details of nature around my house, then I started photographing people; which led to my photography business that I have now. I was asked to pick my favorite photoshoot, which I really can't do. So I have narrowed it down to two sessions. The first session that I decided to show was a wedding that I photographed in Tennessee of Aaron and Autumn .
My world all changed when I was asked to be the photographer of a publication called "Art Decades." My two best friends, Jeremy and Kelley Richey, finally decided to create their dream of having their art publication and decided for me to hop on this journey with them. This publication has challenged me as a photographer to view things differently and have opened a whole new creative outlet for me. This publication celebrates all forms of art. For each quarterly issue, we do photoshoots that are usually inspired by a certain musical artist or inspired by another publication. Here is one of my favorite photoshoots that was featured in their publication.
Overall, my photography style has been in a constant state of change over the last 8-9 years. People, music, traveling, school, and technology has changed my style/outlook on photography. It'll probably keep changing as I age. But there is one thing that I know for sure: photography is the LOVE of my life and I will never stop capturing this beautiful world and it's people through my lens. Photography is my spiritual/creative outlet and my safe haven.
