Hi, I'm Ryan. I make photos.
And I love music. I spent more than a decade living in New York City making my living playing music. All kinds. I’m a good improviser. Making photos is a lot like playing music. Assess the situation, react, interact. It’s thinking on your feet.
When I picked up a camera for the first time I quickly felt like making pictures was the thing I should have been doing my whole life. I do a lot of it now. I like photos with people in them. People are unpredictable. That’s why they’re interesting.Christine and Bryce got married in Page Springs south of Sedona amid family and friends in what was a really beautiful and laid back affair. That’s the kind of people they are – easy going. And looming storm clouds didn’t change that at all. But worrying wouldn’t have done any good anyway. It never really does, right? As it turned out, the rain held off until the party was over. And it was a great party. I love a wedding where stress doesn’t ever enter the equation. It’s all about love and commitment people!
Weddings are amazing. Super fun. I often end up dancing my way through reception photos. I really like collaborating with the couples I work with to make artistic images that tell the story of their wedding day. I shoot pictures for newspapers and I like working in a documentary style. When it comes to making portraits, I like to pull out some lights for a little drama.
My favorite photos tell a story. Your wedding day is the culmination of part one of your story as a couple. And it’s the beginning of a new chapter in part two. It’s an emotional story. One that needs to be documented with care. I’ve got a handle on that.

My job is really fun. My enthusiasm and easy going nature make folks on the other side of my lens feel really, really comfortable. Working with your photographer should be fun. Sure, you might not be a professional model and you might not feel like you know how to pose. You might even be a little nervous about taking photos. But it’s my job to make you feel at ease. And have a good time!
