Photojournalism Wedding Photography by Joshua Rainey

Dang you guys, I'm super excited to be featured on the Basic Invite blog again! It's been such an honor to partner up with this great company and to be able to work together to help out my clients by providing such amazing products for their weddings!

I know a lot of the featured photographer blog posts here on the site are focused on who that photographer is including an introduction to their work. However, having already been featured in that way (check it out), I wanted to focus a little on my unique style and why I do things the way I do. These days with so many photographers to choose from, I think it's all the more important to find someone who completely encompasses the style you want for your photos. A wedding is so important and when you look back on it 20, 30, 70 years later it's those photos that will be there.

So, on to my style for a bit. I like to capture photos that tell a story, but I don't always want that story to be too obvious. I love when there's more to a photo then what we see, or when the photo gives more info to the people who were there. It's like an inside joke through an image, but instead of humor it's a story. I love stories.

Man, I could talk forever about each wedding I've shot and each couple I've been able to work with. That's about 400 stories I've been part of and it's a massive honor!

Keep in mind, my job isn't necessarily to give away each story or tell you why there's more to the photos here, but this is just a small selection of some photos over the past couple of years that have more meaning to me, work that I feel like I want to talk about! I love the backstories for each and I want to convey feeling through my photos. I want people to feel like they were there even if they don't know the couple or location. Maybe I can trick your memories a bit. That's my style.
