This photo shoot started out with a beautiful newly engaged couple and a secret small beach location I found in Brooklyn, NY. We met up at the designated location about an hour before sunset to setup and began our photo shoot using a Swiss Elinchrom portable studio lighting set and a white shoot through umbrella to bring out a serious color "pop" to the images and bring out the best detail in the clouds.
The reason this is one of my favorite all time photo shoots is that the couple just had amazing chemistry, they were incredibly fun to work with, and the bridge over the bay scenery behind them was perfectly complimented by the golden sunset on the bay - just plain surreal. The way they glanced at each other and laughed, and the way their eyes lit up as they looked at each other—it was just simply romantic. Another reason this shoot is one of my favorites to date is that everything actually just fell into place quite effortlessly that day with really minimal posing instruction from me, it was mostly candid, true, and reflected the fun personality of the couple and their emotions.
I also just loved how the golden sunlight shone through her blonde hair.
This black and white photo was truly an iconic look.
.....and as if this shoot weren't already cute enough their doggie came over running around in circles and wanted to play with the couple.
A gorgeous silhouette 15 min before the sun set on the horizon.
“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.” ― Paulo Coelho
A little bit of relaxation and fun as they watched the final moments of the sunset.
