Hello there! My name is Kayla Smith and I am a photographer based out of West Texas. I create authentic, natural, and meaningful photographs that allow my clients to cherish the quick, fleeting moments of their lives forever. I am a lover of light, freedom, beauty, and joy. I search for truth and reality in every photo that I take. The best way for me to help my clients know that they are worthy, that they are beautiful, and that their lives have meaning is through photographs. To put it simply, I love what I do because of who I do it for.
As a photographer who works with brides, grooms, families, high school seniors, and others, I am fortunate to come into contact with every type of human being imaginable. If I can leave a photo session knowing that my clients feel valued and taken care of, I’ve done my job. Taking great photos is a bare minimum for me - I need to know that my clients are ecstatic about every interaction they’ve had with me. As Mother Teresa said, “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
One of my absolute favorite shoots took place in Dallas, TX at the Trinity River Audubon Center. This wedding exemplifies my style as a photographer - modern, dramatic, yet timeless. It didn’t hurt that bride and groom Stacy and Zach were some of the sweetest people I’ve had the honor of serving. The bones of their wedding were modern but the details of their day were softer and more elegant. This created a stunning contrast between urban and natural. Their invitation suite featured organic, watercolor-like details and the florals consisted of succulents, pink and white roses, eucalyptus, and hydrangeas. While most of the day was spent indoors, the ceremony took place at the Audubon Center's Butterfly Garden during sunset. The modern venue with its steel and concrete walls was in the background as the bride and groom said their vows standing in tall, sun-laden natural grasses.
