There's nothing better than a beautiful couple, dressed in their finest attire, perfectly posed in front of the most breathtaking backdrop that reality can produce. This is my obsession.
I'm not only blessed with beautiful clients, but also with the opportunity to live and work in perhaps the world's most scenic locations; the small island of Kauai in Hawaii. None of the images that you see on my site are (except of course that silly T-Rex picture) composited images. They are all real people amidst real settings; celebrating the happiest days of their lives.
Achieving a balance between showcasing the amazing background I work around and displaying the vibrance of newlywed couples in their post-wedding bliss is my ultimate task throughout any session. The result is not only a feeling of achievement for me, but also an entertaining spectacle for outside viewers, and a tear-provoking symbol of joy and beauty for the men and women that I work with.
Although fine-art portraiture is my primary focus and serves to set me apart from other professionals in the industry, my first love has always been photojournalism. As a photographer for the University of Hawaii at Hilo's student newspaper, I was able to hone my skills at capturing defining moments and providing narratives through pictures. A great image evokes an emotion or feeling of wonder; but an astounding image also tells a story. This is the ultimate goal.
While I will always have a heart for my island home and will always have a longing for the intensity of Kauai's blue ocean, white sands, multi-colored sunsets, and streaming light rays; you will see a lot more of my work from mainland and international destinations in the years to come. With plans to set up shop on the East Coast at Freeport, Maine in addition to my Hawaii location; I'm looking forward to expanding not only my portfolio, but also the amount of people I can touch through my artwork.
