Depict Photography

My business is something that has grown more than I could’ve ever anticipated. In the general sense, photography has been a passion of mine since high school, maybe even earlier. It is the simple things that catch my eye, the unseen so to speak. The “unseen” moments evoke real emotion: the stolen newlywed kiss or the child’s tiny hand reaching up for mom and dad... together these images string together a beautiful story that is original and authentic. Whether it is a wedding day or every day, that story, that moment that may have been forgotten, is now there to hold onto.

I approach all photography sessions with a light heart and keen eye. Every wedding day is unique, and it stays that way when it unfolds organically (as much as a fully planned wedding can anyway; a little structure and timeline never hurt). I don’t force anything or get pose happy and hold to the belief that a little encouragement and direction go a long way. Emotions are a big part of capturing a wedding and while I work hard for my couple, I am also happy for my couple! Being a photographer means I calm nerves, find tissues, and even shed a few tears myself! The romance and love in a wedding day creates a wonderful whirlwind. I feel fortunate to be part of these milestones and to capture something so special.

I have had Depict Photography for over four years and the last twelve months or so have been a huge turning point. I was able to take that big first step when I decided to stay at home with our first child. It was the push that I needed to make Depict what I really wanted and it has been tremendously rewarding. I keep things really interesting by not only shooting weddings and couples but also families, babies, high school seniors, headshots and boudoir. It is an endless opportunity to do something new and different.

I am thankful for this amazing job where I am constantly inspired by my clients, other industry colleagues, and simply driving down the street provides with creative options for a new location for a shoot. I’ve learned a ton about myself, about this amazing industry, about my limits and even learning how far I can actually go. I can only imagine (which I do often) what else this amazing passion has to offer.
