My love for photography began in high school, when it was just a cool class I was able to take and an easy grade. Back then I couldn't even tell you what I wanted to eat for lunch let alone what I wanted to do as an adult after high school. Little did I know that it was a doorway for me to be pursuing photography as an actual career!
When I shoot I try and only use natural light. One because it's free and two it creates some of the most beautiful and elegant looking portraits! The way the sun highlights and accentuates the facial features and hits certain parts of the body, it really does finish off a photo beautifully.
As time goes by my skills develope and my passion for photography grows. I love being able to say that I'm a professional photographer. Doing Couples Portraits, Graduation portraits and Weddings. Testing with different models, and playing with all different styles. My "job" never gets boring. I absolutely love what I do! Because I am always learning I like to change the way I do things and keep it fresh. I alway strive to do better and better with every photo shoot I do.
My favorite photoshoots that I have done were with models Lilly and Taylor. The First one was with Lilly. It was done in a Rose Garden I found in a neighborhood nearby where I live. All the roses were in bloom and it was such a magical little place. The dress the model was wearing was found at a thrift shop along with the pearls she was wearing. Which I thought really went well with the dress and shoes she chose. We spent a few hours shooting all over the garden, playing with poses and really making the most of the time and location.
For the 2nd photoshoot we went up to Sedona, Az. There is a hiking trail that has some of the most unbelievable scenery. The model, Taylor, was also self styled and the dress she chose was so pretty and really tied into the "fantasy" theme I wanted to create. The photos were breathtaking and so magical. Both of the locations were so different and so unique.
My style of photography is unique and very different from other photographers. Most of it was self taught. A lot of online tutorials and hours of shooting family and friends. I like to use my Canon 5D MarkIII and my 50mm 1.4 Lens. The bokeh is out of this world, and really strengthens the fantasy look I am going for in my portraits.
I'm so lucky to have all of the love and support form my friends and family. Without them I wouldn't have the courage and inspiration that I do to pursue Photography. I've made it my goal to do what I love and I think that I am on the right track to achieving my dreams.
