ERIN CUSTER PHOTOGRAPHY

When I was 16 I took my first photography class and it was wonderful.  I learned about depth of field, various angles, shutter speed, aperture..the list goes on.  Fast forward to when I graduated college and chose the career of a teacher.  I love my students and didn't think that photography was going to be in my future anymore, until I realized that it still could be.  That is when I started to promote my small business among the families whose children I teach. I realized that I could be a family photographer and a teacher at the same time.

Working with the families that I have gotten to know has been a gift.  The children are comfortable around me, allowing me to photograph them with true smiles on their faces.  Being a teacher also means that I am naturally dedicated to children and their families, which is a key factor in photography as well.  I am invested in the family and want to ensure that I capture the moments when they are at their best.

Being in nature is another big part of my life.  I am active and enjoy running, swimming and biking.  Taking my photography out into nature is another key element in my style.  I love to photography in woodsy, whimsical areas of my hometown, capturing the light when it has a beautiful golden glow.

Being able to combine my love for children, photography and the outdoors into one "job" is the greatest! This is where I feel most comfortable and being behind the camera allows me to use my creativity in an exciting way.  Each family and photo shoot is different which is what makes the job so amazing!
